The Welney Parish Council are delighted to announce that the William Marshall Centre

was officially opened on Saturday 23rd July, 2016 at 3 p.m.  The official opening was performed by Mr.John Gilbert, Chairman of William Marshall Charity, as was attended by approximately 50 persons during the afternoon and approximately the same amount for the evening entertainment.  During the afternoon teas and refreshments were served in the new building, a raffle was held, there was a BBQ on the playing field together with a Craft Stall and Bottle Stall.  During the evening the BBQ was again organised, and there was live music and a disco.  The weather was excellent and the whole day was thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended.  Grateful thanks were extended to everyone who has helped over the last 30 years with fund raising and planning for the new building, as well as those who helped on the day to make it a great success.

The new Community Centre is now available to hire for Sporting facilities as well as all other social and pleasure activities.  All enquiries to the Parish Clerk, Pat Copeman, Tel: 01354 610226 or [email protected]

Parliamentary and Borough Council Elections – 12 December, 2019

On 12 December 2019 there will be the Parliamentary and Borough Council Elections for Upwell and Delph Ward.  Voting for these will take place at The William Marshall Centre, Welney between the Hours of 7 am and 10 pm.

WELNEY PARISH COUNCIL are delighted to announce that this evening the Borough Council have granted full planning permission for the demolition of the existing pavilion and erection of a new Community Centre with Sports facilities, at the Playing Field at Welney.   Full details will be available in due course.

October 2012

The Parish Council have arranged an Open Morning at the Parish Hall on Saturday 10th November, 2012 commencing at 10 a.m.  The purpose of this event is to discuss the proposed new Community Centre and receive any ideas for village fund raising, possible community shop and any other matters which may affect the residents of Welney.  We are hoping there will be a small display of the WASH photographs and a cup of tea or coffee!!
